Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pre-made pie crust in a pie dish and bake according to package instructions until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and flour until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the whole milk to the saucepan, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt until the butter is fully melted and incorporated.
  7. Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled pie crust and spread it evenly.
  8. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow it to set.
  9. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  10. Once the pie is set, top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder before serving.
