Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of crispy bacon
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty is cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. In a small bowl, mash the avocado and mix in the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper to create the avocado aioli.
  5. While the patties are cooking, cook the bacon in a separate skillet until crispy.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  7. To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of avocado aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked patty on top, followed by bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickles if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
