Ingredients:

  • 8 all-beef hot dogs
  • 8 soft hot dog buns
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Mustard for serving
  • Diced onions for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped onion until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, chili powder, paprika, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. While the sauce is simmering, grill or boil the hot dogs according to your preference until heated through.
  5. To serve, place a hot dog in each bun, top generously with the meat sauce, and add mustard and diced onions as desired.
