Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of day-old bread (preferably brioche or challah)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Butter, for greasing the pan

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a rectangle glass pan with butter.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and place half of the cubes in the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add in the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt, mixing until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the bread cubes in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle half of the blueberries and blackberries over the cream cheese mixture, then layer the remaining bread cubes on top.
  6. Pour the remaining cream cheese mixture over the second layer of bread, ensuring it is evenly distributed. Top with the remaining berries.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
