Ingredients:

  • 1 lb egg noodles
  • 1 cup red lentils, rinsed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rinsed red lentils and salt, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the lentils are tender.
  2. Add the egg noodles to the pot and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

  4. Stir in the tomato sauce and cream cheese until well combined, allowing the cream cheese to melt and create a creamy sauce.
