Ingredients:

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, sautéed onions and garlic, drained tuna, milk, oregano, and half of the shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs if using.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
