Ingredients:

  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed and drained
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes and place them in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture over the tofu and toss gently to coat each piece evenly.
  5. Spread the tofu cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle olive oil on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is golden and crispy.
  7. While the tofu is baking, prepare the spicy peanut sauce by whisking together peanut butter, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, and sriracha in a small bowl until smooth.
  8. Once the tofu is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the spicy peanut sauce over it.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro and peanuts before serving.
