Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and melted dark chocolate.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the heavy cream, until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
