Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional, dairy-free if needed)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
