Ingredients:

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Stir in the lemon zest and juice, along with the chopped parsley and basil. Mix well to combine.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
