Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/2 cup hot brewed espresso or coffee

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, sea salt, and sugar. Whisk until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the hot espresso or coffee until the batter is smooth and well incorporated.
