Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp, cooking until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the asparagus and cook for 3-5 minutes until tender.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet, add the remaining butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir to combine and heat through.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
