Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in the toasted pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until creamy and well combined.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top.
  7. Using a knife, gently swirl the cream cheese mixture into the brownie batter to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
