Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, sautéing until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Cook until the beef is browned.
  4. In a large baking dish, layer the diced potatoes at the bottom. Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Top the beef layer with the chopped cabbage, and drizzle with Worcestershire sauce and beef broth.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  7. If using cheese, remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
