Ingredients:

  • 1 cup black chana (soaked overnight)
  • 1 cup moong dal (soaked for 2 hours)
  • 200 grams paneer, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a steamer, combine soaked black chana and moong dal. Steam for about 20-25 minutes until tender.
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the steamed chana and moong to the pan, followed by coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir to combine and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Gently fold in the cubed paneer and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing it to absorb the flavors.
  5. In a bowl, mix the yogurt with garam masala, lemon juice, cilantro, and green chili. Stir until well combined.
  6. Serve the steamed mixture hot, drizzled with the spiced yogurt on top.
