Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made tart shell
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a raw tart shell, bake according to package instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Whip until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped basil into the mascarpone mixture until evenly distributed.
  4. Spread the mascarpone mixture evenly over the cooled tart shell.
  5. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the mascarpone filling in a decorative pattern.
  6. Refrigerate the tart for at least 1 hour to set.
