Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a teaspoon of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center and fold the meat around it, forming a ball.
  4. Repeat the process until all the meat mixture is used, placing the meatballs on a baking sheet.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the meatballs to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
