Ingredients:

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 tbsp rose water
  • ½ cup chopped pistachios (for garnish)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water and rose water, mixing until smooth. The batter will be thin.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, you can layer the cakes with your favorite chocolate frosting and garnish with chopped pistachios and a dusting of powdered sugar.
