Hibachi Chicken and Steak with Fried Rice

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice, preferably day-old
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, and bell peppers)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, and half of the soy sauce. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil and add the sliced flank steak. Season with salt, pepper, ginger, and the remaining soy sauce. Cook until browned and cooked to your liking, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables and garlic to the skillet, stirring for about 2-3 minutes until tender.
  5. Stir in the cooked rice, sesame oil, teriyaki sauce, and green onions. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve the fried rice on plates, topped with the hibachi chicken and steak. Garnish with sesame seeds and additional green onions if desired.
