Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sea salt flakes for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle each cookie with sea salt flakes before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set and the tops are crinkled. The centers should still be soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
