Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Dipping sauce (soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and water to form a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix together napa cabbage, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into circles using a cookie cutter or a glass.
  4. Place a spoonful of the vegetable mixture in the center of each circle. Moisten the edges with water and fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  5. Prepare a steamer and steam the dumplings for about 10-12 minutes until the dough is translucent and the filling is heated through.
  6. Serve hot with a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, vinegar, and a drizzle of chili oil.
